Planes, Trains, and Automobiles: Yucatan, Mexico

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles were all necessary to get us to Mexico.  Once we arrived it became more like Rickshaws, Colectivos, and Motocars.  But I’ll get into that a little later… After spending our life savings on airport food, we stocked up for our almost 5 hour flight from LAX to […]

Indian Canyons in Palm Springs, California

While in Palm Springs, we took a drive to the Indian Canyons, Agua Client Indian Reservation.  There is an admission fee, and there was quite a line to get in, but the trails were very nice. The Agua Caliente Cahuilla Indians settled in the area […]

Redwood National & State Parks, California

The drive from Central California over to the Northern California Coast was not for the faint of heart, driving a 40 foot motorhome.  But, it was worth the visit to see the legendary redwood trees of Northern California. The roads were hilly and curvy, and […]

Highway 1 – California’s Central Coast With Kids

We spent one weekend driving from Pismo Beach to Monterey, California, along Highway 1. I recommend two full days minimum to cover this area.  And that’s because it was not suitable for swimming in February, although some people still were in the water, many in […]

The Living Desert in Palm Desert, California

About Travel 50 States

My parents instilled a love of travel within me since my childhood, when they took my sisters and I on some memorable trips around the United States, exposing us to historical sites and vast landscapes.

My dad has visited nearly all 50 states, but my mother has visited EVERY one of the 50 states, a grand accomplishment, and a tradition that I will strive to live on with my own family.

This blog is a way for me to chronicle my travels, as well as share my experiences with others.  My hope is that I can be a resource for your own journey, whether it helps you to learn about places you plan to travel, allows you to reminisce about a similar journey you’ve taken, or simply brings you along for the ride.
