For our first time apple picking with the boys this autumn, we found a fun place called All Seasons Orchard in Woodstock, Illinois.

Admission included a bag for apples and a hay ride to the orchards, where we were met by guides who explained which kinds of apples were available for picking. Many of the apples were picked over. So, we had to search deeper into the orchard to get some good apples. We still came out with 4 full bags of small, sweet apples.

The other main attraction was the corn maze, shaped in a Scooby Doo design.

If you have small children, plan to spend the day. In addition to the apple picking and corn maze, there was a pumpkin farm, bouncy houses, pig races, and a magic show. miniature zip lining, climbing activities, tube slides, and a feeding area for sheep, goats, and a llama also kept us busy.
This was a great way to spend a sunny and cool autumn day.
