Recently in my Facebook Travel Group, there have been lively discussions of the accomplishment of reaching their 50th state. It is always interesting to find out which state was someone’s last to visit, and how they celebrated their achievement. For some, it was simply a picture next to the state sign, dinner at a fancy restaurant, or a special t-shirt to mark the occasion. But, really, to take the time, effort, and ultimately money to achieve such an occasion should to be celebrated!

Something I’ve noticed is that travelers love to proudly display their travels. Scratch off maps, sticker maps, and certificates have become a popular way to do so. Admittedly, I also love to hang my travel postcards, put up my ornaments, and display my scratch off map as well. In fact, I’ve recently hung a huge world map mural on my living room wall, which is an awesome resource. Frankly, it’s also a huge hit with my guests!
Inspired by my love (or should we just say it like it is –obsession) with travel, I’ve delved into the world of Printable products. Both my Etsy shop AND my own Travel Shop here on Travel 50 States now contains a few of my travel related products. One product (that I’ve been thinking about for years) is the Certificate of Achievement for reaching the goal of traveling to ALL 50 states! It went live this past week, and I’m very excited about it.
How it Works
There are 3 designs to choose from. All options are US Letter size, landscape, 11 x 8.5 inches. This makes them easy peasy to print out from your home computer, or take to a local print shop. (If you don’t have a PDF viewing program on your home computer, you can open the file with Adobe Acrobat (Free to download at: https://get.adobe.com/reader/).
My suggestion is to print on card stock paper. The paper is more durable and the color quality is better. Then simply place in a frame to display at home or at your office! Once you purchase the printable, you may print as many copies as you like. You can print out one for each member of your traveling companions or one with the family name. This also makes a very thoughtful and meaningful gift for your traveling friends or family!
Here are the 3 designs:
Simply download the PDF file, print, and write in the name of the person, couple, or family who it is being awarded to. Or present it to yourself! Congrats – you deserve it! 🙂 Then record the date of completion – when you reached your 50th state. In fact, you could also indicate the name of your 50th state next to the date.
I’d love to know what you think, or better yet, please send a comment or picture if you decide to purchase one for yourself or a friend!
